Masaba Gupta says “Married my ocean of calm, this morning. Here’s to many many lifetimes of love, peace, stability & most importantly laughter. And thanks for letting me pick the caption – this is gonna be great! 😄❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
On January 27, fashion designer and actress Masaba Gupta tied the knot with actor Satyadeep Misra in a court wedding. The daughter of veteran actress Neena Gupta, Masaba chose to wear a custom-designed pink lehenga from her own eponymous label for her special day.

The wedding outfit was a fusion of tradition and freedom, symbolizing that women can both believe in the institution of marriage and freely follow their hearts, voices, and thoughts. The bride donned a barfi-pink raw silk lehenga with two dupattas, paired with an embroidered blouse featuring a broad V neckline and an asymmetrical hem. The lehenga skirt was adorned with intricate leaf motifs and a broad border, contrasting the embroidery on the blouse. To complete her look, she draped two dupattas over her shoulders.
This lehenga was the first creation from the brand’s upcoming bridal collection, Shringar, and featured the first ever Masaba motif – the palm and the chidiya (bird). The designer revealed that both she and her husband wore House of Masaba’s new bridal collection, adding “I guess this is the launch!”
The bride made a bold fashion statement by opting for a barfi pink raw silk lehenga with gold embroidery and a lime green dupatta with a wallflower print, subverting muted tones for a more maximal ensemble. She also made a case for the return of color to wedding wear. Masaba shared her thoughts on the design, stating “I think that it’s all about doing tradition with a contemporary twist. It’s modern and versatile simultaneously, and it’s also very personal. It’s got an element of kitsch.”
Masaba’s choice of a pink lehenga for her wedding is a refreshing departure from the usual white and red bridal wear. The designer’s unique take on traditional Indian bridal wear is a reflection of her signature style, which is known for its fusion of contemporary and traditional elements. Her bold fashion choices and the upcoming bridal collection are sure to inspire brides-to-be to think outside the box and opt for a more personal and unique look on their special day.
In conclusion, Masaba Gupta’s wedding lehenga was a perfect representation of her unique fashion sense, blending tradition with freedom and contemporary with personal touch. Her choice of colors and motifs were a refreshing change from the norm and the upcoming bridal collection Shringar is something to look forward to. The designer’s bold fashion choices are sure to inspire brides-to-be to think beyond the traditional norms and opt for more personal and unique looks for their special day.
